Webmasters have no “typical salary”. Yes, corporate webmasters who maintain websites surely have a limit, but independent webmasters can define their own salary – the sky is the limit.
In general, it is not rare that professional webmasters earn more than $10,000 per month. If you have a passion for something and you’re willing to invest 2-3 years to build up an authority site, then you can easily make that much (unless it’s a very small niche that you’re passionate about).
- Please do no fall for any of the “get rich in 1 week” schemes. Being a webmaster is hard work and requires a lot of dedication.
- Webmasters in large corporations earn approx. $65,000 per year
- Self-made webmasters can earn more than the regular salary with help of Advertising Programs, Affiliate Programs and our Monetization Strategies
Be Your Own Boss, But Be Prepared To Work More Than 40 Hours (And On Weekends!)
Yes, you can be your own boss (again, unless you work for a larger company as a hired person) and take timeouts from the 9 to 5 grind, but have no illusions, a webmaster usually works more than 40 hours a week.
You will have to put in a lot of work at first, some even decide to work more than 60-70 hours a week – and once you have established a certain level you can outsource a lot of work or “work smarter”.
